Dear Students and Alumni, Valued Members and Partners of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Family,
Since the 2008 Global Financial Crisis, the world has witnessed significant transformations and challenges in political, economic, and social terms. The growing influence of emerging economies, the emergence of global trade wars, and disruptive developments such as the pandemic have led to new areas of tension on both the political and economic fronts. Particularly in the post-pandemic world, areas of tension that are relevant both economically and politically, such as the Russia-Ukraine War, the Trump 2.0 Era, and the second trade wars, remain relevant.
There is a greater need than ever for researchers, experts, and decision-makers who can understand and interpret global economic and political transformations in order to build prosperity, peace, health, and social well-being at both the national and international levels.
As the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, which has been in existence since the establishment of our university 28 years ago, we have successfully carried out many academic activities that contribute to the economy and politics both nationally and internationally, together with our students, graduates, academic and administrative members, and all our partners. We are committed to continuing our research, education, and teaching activities without interruption, guided by universal scientific standards, the Kültür Constitution, and the economic needs of our country.
Our faculty, within the scope of our university's internationalization vision, offers our students opportunities to study and intern abroad through Erasmus+ agreements with leading European universities. Additionally, through bilateral exchange agreements with universities spanning a broad geographical area from Asia to the Americas, our students have the chance to study in different countries and gain multicultural experiences.
With our double major and minor programs, we offer a second career path for our students, while also encouraging them to do multiple internships during their studies and providing them with the necessary opportunities. Our faculty has close partnerships with non-governmental organizations, professional associations, organized industrial zones, and leading companies in various sectors. These collaborations not only provide internship opportunities for our students but also significantly contribute to the employment processes of our graduates. Additionally, through the Career Fair we organize annually, we support our students in establishing direct contact with industry representatives and gaining a close understanding of internship and job opportunities.
Our faculty establishes continuous and effective communication networks with both the academic world and the business world and civil society through the scientific congresses, workshops, and panels it organizes. In addition to thematic events such as the SME and Productivity Congress, the Production Economy Congress, and the Family-Run Businesses Congress, we have hosted numerous national and international organizations that bring together different disciplines. The Foreign Trade Summit has been an important initiative aimed at strengthening the sharing of practical knowledge in this field. The Sustainability Congress and International Political Economy Congress also stand out as events that provide opportunities for discussion with experts in the field. Through collaborations with the Family-Run Businesses and Entrepreneurship Research Center our pioneering work targeting family businesses continues.
Our peer-reviewed scientific journal (Journal of Economics, Business and International Relations), which continues to be published within our faculty, offers a common platform for all researchers engaged in academic work in related fields.
Within the scope of 21st century competencies, we prepare our students for the future world with courses we offer in contemporary fields such as artificial intelligence, Society 5.0, machine learning, data science and analysis, and coding. Our undergraduate programs in Economics (Turkish and English), Business Administration (Turkish and English), Political Science and International Relations (English), International Trade and Finance (Turkish and English), and the newly launched Management Information Systems (English) provide our students with a multidisciplinary educational foundation. Additionally, we provide advanced academic opportunities for researchers through our master's and doctoral programs, which are conducted in Turkish or English depending on the department. The accreditation of our Business Administration and International Trade and Finance departments by STARAK, along with the successful progress of the accreditation application for Economics and Political Science and International Relations departments, are concrete indicators of the importance we place on quality assurance in education. Through our undergraduate and graduate research scholarships, we always provide a supportive learning environment for students seeking to gain practical experience.
Within the framework of our “Living University” approach, our efforts to educate graduates who are qualified, sustainable, socially and environmentally conscious, and who have internalized ethical and human values in all areas of education, research, industry, economics, and politics will continue with ever-increasing enthusiasm.
